Maybe you had an accident or you lost or had chipped a tooth. Perhaps years of drinking red-wine, coffee or tea have stained your teeth, and your smile is no longer bright. You may have gaps between your teeth, or you feel that some teeth are too short. Whatever the reason, you can restore your smile or create the smile you always wanted. We have a variety of treatments that can help you achieve that goal.Whitening
New whitening techniques make it possible to have a brighter, more beautiful smile. Teeth darken over time as minerals penetrate the tooth’s enamel. When you whiten your teeth, the whitening agents break down, and oxygen penetrates the enamel, causing the stains to disappear quickly without damaging the tooth’s structure.
Although over-the-counter teeth-whitening kits are available, we recommend that you choose a whitening method that we design specifically for you. We may recommend in-office whitening, or home whitening if time is not an issue.
With dentist-supervised whitening, most people lighten their teeth an average of 6 to 10 shades. And because of our experience, we can help you to achieve a shade that complements your own starting tooth color, skin tone, and hair and eye color. We can also choose from a variety of concentrations to minimize sensitivity after whitening.
A veneer is a thin shell of porcelain or plastic that are bonded to a tooth to improve its color and shape. A veneer generally covers only the front and biting edge of a tooth. Veneers can be used to:
- Close gaps or spaces between teeth
- Lengthen small teeth
- Repair chipped or worn teeth
- Improve the color of severely stained or dark teeth
- Make rotated teeth look straighter
In some cases, we can use bonding instead of veneers. Bonding involves placing a tooth-colored filling material on your teeth. This conserves a maximum amount of tooth structure and protects teeth from additional wear and damage.Bonding can provide dramatic results in a relatively short time, usually in one appointment. We can shape and color a single tooth, or we can change your entire smile.
Once in place, bonded restorations are very strong. Bonding can give you beautiful, natural-looking teeth that will improve your smile.
Braces aren’t just for kids. If teeth are crooked or crowded, it can really affect a person’s smile. And if your upper and lower teeth don’t fit together properly when your mouth is closed, it can cause more serious problems, including tooth decay, tooth loss, and problems with your jaw joint, or the TMJ.
Correcting your bite through orthodontic treatment can improve your dental health and boost your self-confidence by giving you a terrific-looking smile.
Hopefully, your teeth are in great health. But if you do need a filling or a crown, there are esthetic options for these restorations.
You can choose white fillings, which are made of resin and bonded to the teeth. They’re strong, and they look natural because we match the color of the resin to your teeth.
If a tooth is too seriously decayed for a filling, you might need a crown. A porcelain crown looks just like your tooth, giving you a beautiful, more natural restoration.
